While it proves hard to do the tabulation of earning for a huge number of employees, a computerized payroll accounting application is going to make things simpler. However, payroll software can be expensive and may take more time to master and implement. And so with the discovery of the Microsoft Access program, things are no longer hard.
Creating a Payroll Application with Microsoft Access
Designing a payroll application is a simple-to-do task. Therefore, as manager of an organization, you should have access to a computer system with a Microsoft Office program that will allow you to launch the Microsoft Access on your computer. The following are processes that are involved in building Payroll application software by use of the Microsoft Access:-
Step 1
Initiate a Microsoft Access dated the year 2010 on your desktop.
Step 2
On the menu, ribbon bar click File’ and go to New’. Under the Office.com Templates’ click Billing and Time’ sub-folder.
Step 3
Remain patient as you wait for a list of thumbnail images to be displayed on your computer screen. Once it appears, click the Time Card’ on one of the image options.
Step 4
Key in a name for your new payroll database in the File Name’ space that is located on the right side of the monitor. Go ahead and click the “Download” icon. Once the command is executed, give time for the template to download from the website Office.com. When the template is successfully downloaded on your computer it will automatically open in Access.
Step 5
Click the Enable content’ button located at the top part of the monitor if elicited to do so.
Step 6
Go to the Employees List’ in the new payroll software database and click it. From there you can enter the name, payrate information and email address for every employee in the data entry form displayed.
Step 7
Click Work Hours List’ tab. Key in the information on times and date worked by every employee. Pick the name of an employee from the drop-down list. Visit the calendar button displayed on the form to choose the actual date worked and enter start and end period for the shift of different employees.
